What's New – Winter 2011/2012

Ruth Bird is the featured artist with 12 paintings at the Spilsbury Gallery from December 4 to January 1st. The gallery is at 2017 I Street, N. W. in Washington.

Jean Hirons will present ten paintings at a show at the Har Shalom Hebrew Congregation, 11510 Falls Rd, Potomac, MD, 20854. The show runs from Dec. 30, 2011 through Feb. 27, 2012. A reception will be held on Jan. 8, 11:00-1:00. The pastel paintings feature scenes from Maryland’s Eastern Shore and Montgomery County farmland.

Work of two WSG members was accepted for the juried member show at the Yellow Barn Studio. Factory Shadows by Barbara French Pace, and Sunken Treasures, No. 2 by Grace Peterson were accepted. The exhibit runs for three weekends: Dec. 3-4, 10-11, & 17-18. Gallery hours are Sat-Sun, 12-5:00 pm. The opening holiday celebration is Saturday, Dec. 3, from 5-7:00 pm. Member Duncan Whitaker will participate in a group photograph show entitled As I See It at the Dennis and Phillip Ratner Museum from December 29, 2011 to January 29, 2012. The works of the eight participating photographers will include color and black and white images in a variety of styles and subjects. The museum is located at 10001 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, Maryland 20814. The gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 12 noon to 4 pm and Sundays 10 am to 4:30 pm.

Liz Lescault's show Xenophilia: biomorphic sculpture has been extended to December 28th. The show is at Harmony Hall Regional Arts Center at 10701 Livingston Rd., Fort Washington, MD.
