Tom Kenyon opens March at Waverly Street Gallery with artifacts from the famous Kenyon Motor Company belly tank racer. The Kenyon Motor Company raced this car on the Bonneville Salt Flats during the late 1940’s. Well, that is what Kenyon would like you to believe.
Here is a belly tank racer along with invented artifacts, pretend magazine articles, prints, and collages as proof of the racing exploits of the Kenyon Motor Company.
The artist is inspired by cars, car magazines, car culture, and family history. He combines models, painting, drawing, collage and linoleum block prints to inform us about the imaginary racing exploits of the real Kenyon Motor Company.
Kenyon has a BFA from the Corcoran School of Art. He has shown widely in the Washington metro area. He is currently a member of the Waverly Street Gallery.
