Pat Silbert’s series of paintings, Passing Visions, opens September 7, 2010.
Silbert’s paintings are acrylic on handmade paper collaged on to canvas and combined with gold leaf.
The paintings contain images from nature that echo ancient traditional religious art forms from Italy, Ladakh, and Tibet. Silbert uses iconic compositions to develop images from the natural world as living symbols of the earth, where all is fragile, interconnected and sacred. Her travels abroad, in New England and painting in her own garden inspire and shape her vision and love of the natural world.
Previous to Waverly Street Silbert exhibited at The Potters House gallery, Zenith Gallery, Kornblatt Gallery, and Fendrick Gallery.
