Waverly Street Gallery presents The Magic of Light a photography exhibit by the North Bethesda Camera Club. ​

The Magic of Light is the possibility of transformation. 

 

A photograph transformed is more than a simple depiction. 

​

In images well-seen and well-crafted, when illumination and shadow become structural and emotional elements, when the photograph hints and  asks questions, the viewer isencouraged to pause and to look deeply.

 

Photographs bold with color or contrast may capture quick attention, but such work often appears contrived, and interest is fleeting.  I find the most evocative images are reticent, suggestive, often ambiguous and don’t readily give away their secrets. These are the photographs I look for and hold in the highest regard.
