My art epitomizes the fearless exploration of color! The saturated palette dominated by red, yellow, orange, and blue says, “Live life to the fullest”. My art language consists of layers of strong black lines and colored ribbons, each twisting and turning, weaving. Within the many layers are hints of swings, ladders, windows and passageways. These

elements, like life itself, often lead to interesting chaos. I work it out on my iPad then move the composition to my canvases.

I started my art career painting small representational watercolors. Then. searching for bolder, freer expression I found my voice in large colorful abstracts. I find it easier to communicate intangible, intuitive concepts like emotions without being constrained by the limits of realism.

Where does my creativity come from? The influences and inspiration for my work reflect a lifetime of profound change. My Midwestern suburban childhood overlapped the societal revolutions of the 1960s and 1970s launching in me a thirst for new horizons.

After college I spent years in Mexico, Spain, France, as well as India. Luckily I found the right career in International development, mostly with USAID. I was happiest when working in the villages of Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, and Bolivia. I am passionate about the vibrant Latin American life and its local art.

I live and work in Falls Church, Virginia and have an art studio in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. The vibrancy of life in Mexico serves as an ongoing source of inspiration.
