The decorative effects of ornamentation and the innate harmony of
geometry provide the foundation of my artistic exploration.  My background
as an art historian inspired me to design color schemes after different
historical artists such as Hokusai, Jan Vermeer and Winslow Homer.  I am
fascinated by surface decoration.  I work in polymer, a synthetic, full
spectrum modeling compound. Once sheeted, I add pattern using silk
screening, block printing or image transfers much as one might do with
fabric.  The contrast of surface complexity and simplicity of form allows me
to craft jewelry that that is both distinctive and wearable. 

My work has been acquired as part of the permanent collection at the
Philadelphia Museum of Art, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, The Racine
Museum of Art, The Newark Museum and the Mingei International
Museum.
