Mariah Gugel is a Maryland-based artist and graduate of the University of Maryland Art
Program. Her work primarily explores the exchange between figure and environment, depicting
uncomfortable space-either space that could not actually exist or space that is emotionally
uncomfortable. Recently, her work has been centered on capturing the environmental or
emotional moments and views of a young adult. Mariah often works from photos and is
influenced most by memories and patterns.
